Meet ‘Cliff’ – CCTMA’s Expanded Shuttle Bus Service

CCTMA's The Clifton Corridor Transportation Management Authority (CCTMA) has expanded its shuttle bus network and given it a new look. The service now includes more frequent shuttles and additional stops in Decatur, where it has operated since the program began in the late 1990s.

The shuttle bus network has been expanded to provide transportation alternatives for Emory students, workers and members of the greater Clifton community. The buses have new, colorful logos and are named “Cliff,” representing the Clifton community, a key transportation artery through the Emory campus.

Free, Convenient and Reliable
Decatur residents who work in the Clifton Corridor area are well acquainted with the shuttle program, but many Decatur residents may not realize that this shuttle is provided as a free service for anyone wishing to travel between downtown Decatur and the Emory University community. The new shuttle design and name are being introduced in conjunction with the improved service provided to the community. Cliff represents a free, convenient and reliable transportation alternative that is available for anyone to use.

Cliff routes and schedules can be found at www.ridecliff.org. New routes will continue to be added over the next several months. In downtown Decatur, the shuttle can be boarded at the MARTA bus-to-rail transfer point on Swanton Way, and at 125 Clairemont Ave. in front of the Children’s Healthcare Clinic. New stops have been added at Clairemont Oaks, to assist in getting residents to Emory Hospital and related healthcare providers, and at Michigan Avenue. One additional stop is made at Emory Commons shopping center before the shuttle proceeds to the Clifton Corridor area.

Because the shuttle also provides free service to people in the Clifton Corridor area who want to shop and dine in Decatur, we are in conversation with the CCTMA staff to look at extending shuttle hours during weekdays and adding shuttle service on the weekends.

Future plans would expand shuttle service around Decatur’s central business district and down to the Oakhurst business district, creating a long-dreamed-of shopping-and-dining shuttle. In the meantime, hop on one of the friendly Cliff buses and try this free shuttle program for yourself.
