Overview
The Community & Economic Development Department is responsible for all economic development, marketing, special events and quality-of-life programming for the City of Decatur. Department staff are under contract to the Decatur Downtown Development Authority board to oversee the City's economic development programming and implement a citywide economic development strategy.

The department works in close partnership with the Decatur Business Association to produce the Decatur Focus newsletter and a year-long calendar of special events. The department is responsible for the production of all City marketing publications, the maintenance of the City's website and a variety of citizen outreach programs designed to involve citizens more directly with City government.
